Description
A German WWII Auxiliary Cruiser War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Hilfskreuzer). The badge features a Viking ship sailing across a globe, surrounded by a gilded oak leaf wreath and topped with a national eagle. Constructed from zinc with remaining gold and silver finishes. This award was instituted in 1941 for crews of merchant raiders. Shows moderate wear and patina consistent with age.
