Woven in grey threads on black wool, with standard buckram backing; unworn, in mint condition; a typical Dachau made tab. It is certain that the collar tab was manufactured, but no evidence surfaced if it was ever issued and worn. Footnote: The 33rd Waffen Grenadier SS-Division “Charlemagne” was made up with French Volunteers. They were known to be amongst the last German formations to see action in a fierce battle during the closing days of World War II in Berlin, where they held positions in the center of the City and around the Hitler’s bunker, holding the positions against the fierce attacks of the Russian/Soviet armed forces.
