Beskrivelse
This is an authentic 1934 'Tag der Arbeit' (Day of Labor) commemorative tinnie badge, a significant piece of historical militaria from the early Third Reich era. Struck in bronze-finished steel, the circular badge features a high-relief design by Richard Klein, whose 'RK' initials are visible on the right side. The central iconography depicts a stylized worker's head flanked by a hammer and sickle, positioned above a national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika. The upper perimeter is inscribed with 'TAG DER ARBEIT' and the date '1934' is split at the base. Measuring approximately 35mm in diameter, this badge was issued to commemorate the May 1st national holiday. The piece exhibits a pleasing aged patina with some minor wear to the bronze wash, consistent with its age. The reverse typically features a horizontal safety-pin style attachment (not pictured). This item serves as a notable example of period propaganda art and is a sought-after collectible for historians and militaria enthusiasts focusing on mid-20th-century European artifacts.
