Russia - Soviet: Badge of The Laureate of The State Prize in Gold, 14 carat gold, weighing 22 grams inclusive of its hanger, obverse illustrating the hammer and sickle insignia with a branch of laurel leaves to the left, reverse inscribed "ЛАУРЕАТ ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОЙ ПРЕМИИ CCCP" and number impressed "20920", measuring 26 mm in diameter, original ribbon placed within a horizontal frame hanger with pinback. Rare. Condition: Nearly Extremely Fine. The USSR State Prize (Russian: Государственная премия СССР) was the Soviet Union’s state honour. It was established on 9th September 1966. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the prize was followed up by the State Prize of the Russian Federation.
