A French Model 1866 Chassepot sword bayonet featuring a characteristic recurved yataghan-style steel blade with a wide fuller. The hilt is constructed with a ribbed brass grip and a steel crossguard with a forward-swept quillon and muzzle ring. Accompanied by its original matching steel scabbard.
