A Finnish Winter War (Talvisota) 1939-1940 commemorative medal. The black and red ribbon features a bronze crossed swords device and a 'Rannikkopuolustus' (Coastal Defense) clasp. The blackened iron medal depicts a Finnish soldier in profile surrounded by provincial coats of arms, suspended from a stylized crown and crossed swords mount.
